His main area of focus is interior visualization. He sometimes does architectural stuff like designing plans and interior designs. He is regularly enhancing his current skills.
Tell me about yourself? Who is Ivan?
My name is Ivan Baychev. I am from Sofia. I have a son, whose name is Andrey and he is almost five years old.
I love listening to music all the time. I love my friends who are still with me. I love the sea and the summer sun. I have played basketball and a little volleyball before.
I am also an open fan of Asian culture and nature – this can be seen in some of my personal works.
I also like Japanese car brands.
Have you ever been in Asia?
No, but China and Japan are on my check list as future destinations. I love Prague as a city. I have been there once, but I really want to go back. I’m impressed by the visualizations of interiors. I spent a lot of time in studying.
Hobbies outside/ interests outside work?
My hobbies are drawing and basketball. During the years basketball has gone in the background, for which I am a bit sorry. I also love to travel.
Has your role changed since you’ve been here?
Since the end of the last year with my colleague Maria Getova (we were previously in the team of Dimitar Nenov) have been given the opportunity to form a new team. We also have been given more responsibilities.
How has the company changed since you joined?
The company evolves in every aspect. Since I am here there are many new colleagues but there are also colleagues who have failed to fit and keep up the tempo. The base is developing and now we have two offices in Sofia (soon we will have a third one), one in Dubai and one in Los Angeles. All of them are working at full capacity. When I started, 4 years ago, we were about 50 people, but today things are totally different and at a higher level.
What did you do before this?
Before I start working at REDVERTEX, I worked for about two years in a company for events and conferences where my main job was to design and visualize scenes for events. Before that I worked for one of the main companies at the time for TV Decors and Broadcasts.
Why did you come to this company?
It was a turning point in which I needed a new beginning. I had done a research for companies dealing with 3D in Bulgaria and one of them stood out above all. It all started when I received an unexpected email from Dimitar Rashkov in which he mentioned that he took a look at my stuff on the web and he would enjoy seeing me and discus possibly joining the team.
What’s your favorite part about working here?
I have the opportunity to work with many creative colleagues both in the 3D and post production. Also communication with some of the biggest companies in the world and the fact that I can see and be part of their designing process is great. If you could have the perfect job, what would it be? I am working what I want. 🙂
How would you describe the work environment here – is the work typically collaborative or more independent?
The work environment is really good. All colleagues are very cool people. The team is very reliant on teamwork. This is the leading force here.
What have been major obstacles which you have had to overcome on your current job?
I cannot say that I have had obstacles or difficulties. Maybe in the beginning I needed some time to get used to the way of work, the structure of the files and information, the tempo and the communication with an email, but with hard work and persistence everything can be achieved. Share a personal fact no one would ever guess about you. In 1990 I was in North Korea, where I studied in a Russian school at the Russian Embassy.
What are you going to do when you retire?
I will try to travel and enjoy life. But whether I will completely withdraw from this sphere I do not know. 🙂
What did you want to be when you were 10 years old?
Basketball player in the NBA.
You are about get into fight, what song comes on as your soundtrack?
