The name of the project is inspired by the desire to achieve the flourishment of Bulgarian. Just as it was at the time of that worthy pupil of the Magnaurian school – Tsar Simeon the Great. It became a bridge between the eras and a message to all those who are willing to shape up the new reality, an invitation to a firm optimism.
Since its founding, ARTEКS has been committed to a socially responsible architecture that fits respectfully in the environment and at the same time stands out as an incentive for a positive change in it. The implemented projects (including infrastructure improvement, greening and maintenance of green areas, special lighting, and many others) give an infectious example and raise expectations for beauty and harmony in the city.
„ZLATEN VEK“ is rising… in three stylized wheat ears towering from arches thirty feet high. Wheat is a symbol of life, growth and prosperity, which you can expect only if you have been diligent and perseverant in your work. In Christianity, wheat also symbolizes faith: the seed of the word of God germinates in the souls of the worthy, becomes a wheat-ear, and produces fruit. Let’s not forget that the ZLATEN VEK of Simeon the Great is associated with the spiritual upsurge of our people after the acceptance of Christianity, which happened during the reign of his father Boris. The three ears of wheat bear also the idea of the Holy Trinity, as well as Faith, Hope and Love – the daughters of Sophia. Observers may also probably see in the three arches the Proto-Bulgarian symbol – Y, the sign of Khan Kubrat.
It is a breathing, open for its environment building. In fact, after Diamond, „ARTEKS“ has incorporated a recuperator system for fresh air and concomitant temperature control here as well, with a significant reduction in energy costs. Residents can rely on mountain fresh air in the heart of the city.
A high-rise building saves land where it is the most scarce and expensive bringing to the urban environment what is beneficial to the area and the city. Besides the floors of residential spaces, the „ZLATEN VEK“ building provides also open public spaces. The first two levels are occupied by them: a shopping center, a coffee shop, a club, a dance, pilates and yoga space, a spa area with a swimming pool, a gym, a children’s space, a roofed green terrace with a water mirror.
The building changes its environment and belongs to its own community. The visible, tangible influence of the spirit, the place and the people. Our highest purpose as architects is to facilitate and improve quality of life to aid the development of the urban landscape and its aesthetics.
