This concept of a city within a city was designed for a transformation in Winterthur, Switzerland. The Lokstadt, with its various buildings, squares, paths, and services, is like a small town within a bigger city. This idea of “city within the city” was the starting point for placing the different volumes inside the halls. A hybrid space with a restaurant, shops, a hotel, a co-working space, and a marketplace forms a natural extension of the outside. The idea won second place and we’re grateful to have been part of this inspiring story.
